Child and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS)

In partnership with the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), Rockland Community Services is accepting referrals for Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) for eligible children and youth with mental health and/or substance use needs. These services are available to children and youth enrolled in a Medicaid Managed Care Plan or those who have NYS Children’s Medicaid.

Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) include:

1. Rehabilitation Services (Psychosocial Rehabilitation – PSR)
PSR helps children and youth develop the skills needed to manage behavioral and emotional challenges in healthy and productive ways. Through individualized support, participants learn strategies to cope with stress, build positive routines, strengthen relationships, and improve communication with family, friends, and peers. The goal of PSR is to enhance day-to-day functioning and support success at home, in school, and within the community.

2. Family Peer Support Services (FPSS)
FPSS provides families with guidance and encouragement from trained Family Peer Advocates who have lived experience supporting a child with behavioral health needs. Families receive assistance navigating service systems, understanding their rights, building advocacy skills, and developing tools to support their child’s growth, stability, and overall well-being.

3. Youth Peer Support (YPS)
YPS connects youth with trained Youth Peer Advocates who offer mentorship based on their own lived experience overcoming behavioral health challenges. This service helps youth build self-advocacy skills, gain confidence, set personal goals, develop healthy coping strategies, and engage in positive activities that foster resilience and independence.
